About Our Chapter
RockvilleThe Janet Montgomery Chapter is located in Rockville, Montgomery County, Maryland.

Chapter meetings are held monthly, September through May. In March, members are encouraged to attend the DAR State Conference. Most meetings are held on Saturdays at various locations. The Chapter boasts a membership of 88, and 9 associate members.

quoteThe first meeting of Montgomery County women who were descendants of Revolutionary soldiers met in Rockville, Maryland, at the home of Miss Margaret Fields on February 20, 1909, in order to organize a DAR chapter.

The quotation at right is from the first meeting. Thus, the first DAR chapter in Montgomery County, Maryland, was organized and confirmed the Janet Montgomery Chapter, Daughters of the American Revolution, on April 16, 1909, at Hungerford's Tavern, Rockville, Maryland.

The Chapter organized with 42 members and elected the following:
